Astrology can help you answer these questions by showing you the rhythms of the planets and how you resonate with those cosmic rhythms.
Newspaper astrology columns and most books just tell you about a single astrological factor: where the Sun is right now in the Zodiac. They don't tell you what's happening personally to you. But finding an excellent astrologer who can answer your questions when you need those answers can be tough—and expensive.
Planetland runs on all iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, and iPad 2 devices running iOS 5.
Planetland puts the language of the planets right in your hands.
What's happening for me today?
Once you enter your birth data into Planetland, you'll see the most important astrological factors that affect your personal chart – every day.
A daily affirmation helps you start the day off right.
The most important influences come first, in straightforward language. There's no complicated astrological lingo to wade through. Every factor shows you opportunities – keywords that appear in green—and challenges—keywords in red. Opportunities point where you can take advantage of the day. Challenges show you potential danger areas.
Planetland builds its daily interpretation based on your birth chart and on current lunar return chart. It computes both charts and then analyzes how the daily motion of the planets affects both your birth chart and your lunar return chart. It accounts for planetary aspects and midpoints in preparing the analysis. And you don't need to worry about learning any of the details, because Planetland does the work for you.
I'm planning a big meeting next week on Friday.
What should I look out for?
Just tap the Calendar and set the day to next Friday. Planetland gives you your reading—instantly. And don't forget to check the Moon's placement when planning your meeting.
The Full Moon's tomorrow.
Does that mean something?
Planetland shows you the Moon's current phase: the single most important thing to keep in mind. Just tap World Today.
Any good times to chill out this week?
Planetland also tells you when the Moon is Void-of-Course: that's when the Moon isn't relating effectively with other planets. That's when you should schedule some down-time and avoid launching into new projects. For example, scheduling a meeting during a Void-of-Course Moon likely means nothing will be accomplished. On the other hand, these are wonderful periods for reflection and relaxation.
It's such a weird day in the news.
What's going on in the world?
Planetland gives you a comprehensive view of the world each day. Tapping World Today gives you an up-to-date summary of what's affecting everyone at this moment.

Take advantage of the unique properties of each hour
Planetary hours are vital to magical work, to rituals in many traditions, and to the preparation of magically charged essences and extracts from plants and gemstones. At the very end of the World Today is a table of planetary hours for the current day.
Each day's planetary hours begin at Sunrise with the planet ruling the day. For example, the Moon rules the hour beginning at Sunrise for Monday; for Tuesday, Mars; for Wednesday, Mercury; for Thursday, Jupiter; for Friday, Venus; for Saturday, Saturn; for Sunday, the Sun.
Each hour following takes its ruling planet as the next planet in the standard order of the planets. On a Tuesday, the day starts at Sunrise with Mars ruling. The following planetary hour has the Sun as its ruler, followed by hours ruled by Venus, Mercury, and the Moon. The next hour begins the planetary sequence again with Saturn, and Jupiter, and then Mars again. This sequence of planetary hours repeats throughout the day.
Planning an activity relating to the ruling planetary hour ensures additional energy to support your task. Consider scheduling meetings or important calls during a Mercury hour, or doing exercise with a Mars hour. Think of private, contemplative work during a Saturn hour, and of connecting with loved ones during a Venus or hour ruled by the Moon.
Hours ruled by the planet ruling the day are vitally important in ritual and essence preparation. Choose a day whose ruler is sympathetic to the work you want to do, then choose an hour during the day ruled by that same planet. For herbal or gem essence or extract preparation, choose the day that corresponds to the nature of the herb or gem you're working with. Herbal and gem authorities usually list planetary correspondences.
Understanding the bigger picture: New and Full Moons
Lunations are charts drawn for New and Full Moons for your current location. These are periods of significant energy and change. A chart drawn for a New or Full Moon symbolizes the theme of the period. A New Moon starts a lunar cycle, launching it into a new direction of growth and change. A Full Moon culminates a lunar cycle, and begins a period of harvest and completion. There are roughly thirteen New and thirteen Full Moons each year.
Planetland draws charts for each of the lunations throughout the year for the location where you currently are. Tap the Lunations tab, then tap the Lunations button in the toolbar to see a list of all the lunations throughout the year. Tap any line in the list to see an interpretation for that New or Full Moon.
Planetland assesses each planetary factor in the lunation chart using a combination of aspects and midpoints. It considers each planet along with the Ascendant (First House), Midheaven (Tenth House), and Moon's Node. It gauges the total energy for each factor and ranks them so the most important factor appears first. Finally it lists the most important planetary factors in order. Each factor has a set of opportunity and challenge keywords. Opportunities appear in green: these represent potential energies that lead toward greater growth and change. Challenges appear in red: these are potential conflicts or restrictions for the time. The art of living is to use both opportunities and challenges in a balanced, harmonious way.
Your personal month
A lunar return chart is computed for the exact moment that the Moon returns to the place it had in your birth chart. This happens roughly every twenty-nine days. This personal lunar cycle sets the tone for your month. Planetland interprets your lunar return chart to give you the overall significance of this period. As you read your lunar return interpretation, keep in mind that this chart has impact for twenty-nine days. It is not a daily forecast, but rather describes the tone for the current lunar period.
